Carsten Thoma is President and co-founder of SAP Hybris. In this role, he is responsible for SAP’s customer engagement and commerce line of business, SAP’s fastest growing business unit. One of the most successful tech entrepreneurs in the industry, Carsten co-founded hybris Software while still a student in Munich, Germany. In 2013, the company was acquired by SAP for an undisclosed sum, making it at the time the highest value paid for a private technology acquisition. Carsten’s passion for new and innovative technologies is reflected in his pursuits outside of SAP, where he remains active as an investor and mentor of several emerging global start-ups. He studied law at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, and holds a graduate degree in economics from the Graduate School of Business Administration in Zurich. He divides his time between New York and Zurich.
